Thinking of a name for your baby boy can be a challenge! And I know everyone these days is trying to come up with the most unique names for their babies. But I can promise you, a lot of those unique names actually end up pretty popular because so many parents are thinking the same thing.
But what is so bad about a popular name. My running joke with my patients always was “well I’m Jessica from the 90’s and I turned out just fine! Having a common name doesn’t mean you are doomed for life. I mean lots of people have to be choosing them for a reason, right? I personally love so many of the popular names (particularly on the boys list) because they are classic and timeless. These names are not trendy, they never go out of style!
The Social Security Administration recently released their top 1000 names for each gender in 2022. While we don’t have the time to go through all of them, I broke down the top 20 names for boys in 2022 with their meanings ranked in order of popularity.
