If the new dad in your life is anything like my husband, than he will likely spend the 9 months of pregnancy trying to learn as much as possible about being a new dad. Parenthood is an exciting but also overwhelming time. Give dad the opportunity to prepare and relieve some anxiety about caring for a baby by giving him the gift of a parenting book. Reading these together can also be a great bonding experience for mom and dad.

Now this may not be a physical gift, but its an important one. If you are an expectant mom, schedule a class for you and your partner to take to learn about what to expect when your new arrival comes. This is a great bonding experience and you can even make a date night out of it.
If the new dad in your life wants to learn all about having a baby, but reading a book isn’t for him this could be a great option. The more hands on learning environment and the ability to ask questions can really help reduce anxiety and make you both better prepared for what’s to come.
